- Imidazolidinyl Urea and Diazolidnyl Urea. These chemicals are TOXIC.
- Methyl, Propyl, Butyl and Ethyl Paraben. HIGHLY toxic.
- Petrolatum. Often found in lipbalms and moisturizers, or listed under the euphemism, "mineral oil". It dries out the skin and has been know to produce pre-cancerous growths.
- Propylene Glycol. This used to be a vegetable glycerin, mixed with grain alcohol, both of which are natural. Sadly, today it is usually a synthetic petrochemical and causes allergies and toxic reactions.
- PVP/VA Copolymer. Particularly prevalent in hairsprays and hair products. Toxic, since they affect the lungs.
- Steralkonium Chloride. Often in hairconditioners and various creams. Toxic.
- The Synthetic Colors. These are your FD&C's or D&C's, followed by a color and a number. Found in foods, toiletries and facial cosmetics, espcially, make-up. They are cancer causing agents. Avoid them.
- The Synthetic Fragrances. Any label that lists "Fragrance" or "Parfum" should be avoided. These items can have as many as 200 chemical ingredients, which are NEVER listed on the label. They cause headaches, dizziness, rash, pigmentation problems, coughing, skin irritation, the list goes on.
- Triethanolamine. Often listed as TEA. Causes allergies, eye problems, dryness of skin and hair, and can be toxic when absorbed into the body.
